About AMHRI

The Association Ma'onah for Human Rights and Immigration (AMHRI) is an independent, non-profit civil society organization of Yemeni-American origin with a global scope. We defend the rights of the displaced and give migrants a voice on the world stage.

Our story

AMHRI was founded in 2007 and officially registered in Yemen with the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor under No. 50/105 on 17 June 2007. The organization was later established in New York City, and holds UN ECOSOC Special Consultative Status — participating in the UN Human Rights Council and other United Nations forums in Geneva and New York.
